When Women Pursue Justice

by Jess McCabe // 19 February 2006, 12:25

London is one of the world's most vibrant cultural hubs. But for all its theatres, art galleries, concert halls, gig venues, underground cultural centres and other forms of artistic life, there is one area in which it is desperately impoverished. London doesn't have enough murals. The closest we get to true public art is graffiti. And, sorry, but Banksy's alright but he's not that good.

US cities have much more of a history of mural painting. And now two Brookyln artists have come up with another brilliant project, When Women Pursue Justice, a giant mural depicting 90 women who struggled for social change.

Women's eNews covers the story.
