But… I still wanna be your Joey Ramone!

I regret to be the one to have to tell you this, but Sleater Kinney have announced that they are on “indefinite hiatus”.

After 11 years making some of the best music known to woman, it’s all over. They still have a handful of tour dates to play, but, yep, they’re all in the US. Am I tempted to hop on a plane just to see their last hurrah? You betcha.

July 29 - Mellwood Arts Center - Louisville, KY
July 31 - Starlight Ballroom - Philadelphia, PA
August 01 - 930 Club - Washington, DC
August 02 - Webster Hall - New York City, NY
August 04 - Lollapalooza (Grant Park) - Chicago, IL

I still remember the first time I saw them live. I’d heard maybe one or two tracks, but nothing could prepare me for the sound of Corin’s voice, bellowing out that powerful sound. But I won’t try and describe it. If you know, you know, and if you don’t. Well. All I can do is suggest that you go and buy their back catalogue, then you’ll know what an amazing thing we’ve lost.
