Reality TV women become tribal wives

by Jess McCabe // 10 November 2006, 08:32

Another day, another dodgy exercise in reality TV. This time the BBC is sending six British women to become second wives to tribesmen in Papua New Guinea, Greenland, Africa and Northern Mongolia.

Tribe members will be interviewed each week to assess how the British women have been accepted.

Producers say the series, entitled Women of the Tribe, will examine the hosts' perceptions of western culture through their visitors.

The BBC promises actual tribeswomen will be given a voice in the programme. We shall see how far that goes.
