Yes, it seems the Mirror found the sight of Beth Ditto and Kate Moss leaving a club in Los Angeles together shocking enough to be worthy of the scathing headline “Kate’s Big Mates.” According to the Mirror, hanging out with Ditto and another “chubby chum” is now Kate’s “secret to looking a size zero.” (Apparently, Moss has been criticised for “letting herself go” recently so the comment from another guest that she “looked great next to the other two” was obviously all the ammunition the Mirror needed to conveniently pitch a successful singer against a successful model.)

So if we’re to believe the Mirror, being seen with someone who has been declared the coolest woman on the planet won’t have had anything to do with it at all. No, Kate just needed to look skinny.
