Disney's war on boys' self esteem?

Disney may be responsible for giving many millions of girls a series of weak, tiny waisted, overwhelmingly-white princess role models, but what effect do the films have on boys?

This video (via Women of Color), looks at the images of hypermasculinity in Disney films. Check out the comments at WoC for a discussion of the relevance of race, and the way Disney heros have changed over time.

Jeff from Feminist Allies notes that many of the Disney characters featured in this short documentary are villains:

I think, for instance, that Gaston from Beauty and the Beast is mocking some aspects of traditional masculinity, rather than representing the men we ought to become.
