Young Women and Pay Discrimination

It was often argued, after the Equal Pay Act, that as women entered the workforce in larger numbers pay discrimination would decline. It wasn't true which is why Yvonne Roberts' response to Zoe Williams' article on collective action is a timely reminder that introspective feminism can be valuable but campaigning feminism is crucial.
The key fact - female apprentices under the new vocational schemes are earning an average of £40 a week (or 26%) less than young men.
