Evidence from Darfur confirms widespread use of sexual violence against women

The UN has released detailed reports of new crimes against Darfur women by soldiers and the government sponsored Janjaweed militia. The report also accuses the Sudanese government of failing to investigate these crimes and protect it's population.
"The abuses may also constitute war crimes," said the report by the office of Louise Arbour, UN high commissioner for human rights. From News.com.au
The most recent report on atrocities in the area focuses heavily on the village of Deribat and the surrounding eight villages from where women and children were abducted, raped and killed. More here.
