Strangers in Paradise TV show?

by Jess McCabe // 8 February 2008, 00:27

Given my post earlier this week on sexism in comics, it's worth taking the opportunity to highlight a book that's actually worth reading. If you haven't read Strangers in Paradise, now is as good a time as any.

SiP is a comic based on the amazingly complicated story of the friendship/relationship between best friends Katchoo and Francine. Suffice to say, there's also an increasingly improbable side-plot involving assassins and the like. There's also an inordinate amount of poetry and comics set to '90s lyrics.

The point, however, is that it is an interesting, intelligent comic book with proper female characters.

Why talk about it today? Well, apparently someone wants to make the comic into a TV series. Great. Unfortunately, that someone is the producer behind Xena.
