Girls Rock!

Girls Rock is a documentary about a camp where girls learn the art of rock and roll from the likes of Sleater Kinney's Carrie Brownstein. Looks brilliant - but it doesn't seem to have a UK distributor as yet.
The folks behind Ladies Rock! UK, which we covered last year, are putting on a similar camp for girls in London this August. More info here.

I'm pretty sure this is (or was) playing at the Glasgow Film Festival. I'm not sure how long the festival runs for so it may have played already but if I remember correctly (which I probably don't) it was due to play near the end.

I know a few people from Carrie Brownstein's old school, I still do work in the Redmond area of Washington. I'm as fond of Portland,
the thing I liked most about Portland was that they were just so unimpressed with people from Berlin, Paris or London working their town. It was like being an electric car, too strange.
A rock camp is a better introduction than the ubiquitous sunphobic stuff born of isolation. There is nothing more boring than a geriatric German sampling a wine glass being crushed and calling it art.
