New feminist group for Birmingham
By Jess McCabe | 6 March 2008, 11:46
Birmingham readers: a new group has been set up to serve the city and surrounding area.
Birmingham Fems has a Yahoo! Group, a Facebook group and a blog.
I particularly enjoy this recent post on the blog (no prizes for guessing the result of the poll!)

One of the group’s members is also responsible for the brilliant blog Brand New Feminist.
Have your say
In order to keep this blog as a feminist and friendly space, comments will be subject to some rules. We do not seek to censor debate: the beauty of the internet is that anyone can set up their own blog or website to express their views.
- This blog is a safe and friendly space for feminists and feminist allies. Debate and critique are welcome where it is constructive and deepens analysis or understanding. Anti-feminist comments will not be approved. We get to decide what's anti-feminist.
- All comments must be approved by one of the bloggers. For this reason, there may be a delay before your comment appears.
- No sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, classist, ablist comments, comments which make personal attacks on any blogger or commenter, or comments that are otherwise deemed offensive by us will be posted.
- Trolls will be banned from commenting. We get to decide who is a troll.
- No anonymous comments - please feel free to use your real name or make one up, though.
- Be nice.

Oh *blush* brilliant blog indeed, you don't have flatter! Thanks so much for giving us this publicity. You will see on the blog that I have added our banner for the MWR march, its pretty good and I think we can sew the middle together so it just says Birmingham Feminists for future use!

Oh *blush* brilliant blog indeed, you don't half flatter! Thank you so much for this publicity! There are definitely more and more of us coming out of the wood work and in the 'lapdancing capital' we really need West Mids women (and men!) to rise up together against the misogyny that litters our otherwise rich and cultural city! Apologies if you have three versions of this comment from me!
