Reform lapdance club licensing
By Laura Woodhouse | 10 June 2008, 10:31
Object and the Fawcett Society are asking supporters to write to their MPs before 18th June to ask them to support an early day motion calling for the relicensing of lapdance clubs:
Lapdance clubs are licensed like any ordinary pub or karaoke night - with a Premises Licence. Fawcett is calling for lapdance clubs to be licensed as Sex Encounter Establishments - as sex shops are. This would give local authorities powers to apply vital conditions and restrictions on the clubs to protect both the women who work in them and women who live in and travel through the area.
