SBS protest

Yesterday and today protestors are gathering outside the High Court in support of Southall Black Sisters, as the case is heard on whether Ealing Council broke the Race Relations Act when it acted to effectively pull funding from SBS - more info here.

Harpymarx has some great photos up of the protest - I hope she doesn't mind me stealing this one, above, but you can see them all in situ at her blog.

Thanks Jess.

The weather was chilly and rainy yesterday but that didn't put us off...

I do hope SBS win!

Excellent news that SBS have won their case against Ealing Council. Does this create a legal precedent then with regards to what is euphemistically termed 'gender mainstreaming' wherein it is presumed we are all equal. But of course, this ignores the fact some humans are more equal than others and 'mainstreaming' will in reality ensure that power inequality between women, men and differing groups remains the same.
