Women in film event, Bristol

by Jess McCabe // 18 August 2008, 14:09

If you're in the Bristol area, this event at the Watershed Media Centre, 7pm, 28 August, looks great:

Of 2007’s top grossing 250 films, only 6.25% were directed by women. This, and the reports that only 12% of the film industry are female, means something needs to be done.

This month’s Cineformation provides a platform for women filmmakers, putting the gender imbalance to rights! Screening work, sparking lively debates, our guest panel highlight the importance of having both sexes heard at a time when the media has such a powerful effect on us. So, whether you’re male or female, it’s an evening not to be missed!
