An exciting event will take place on Saturday, 11th October, 2008. It is called Feminism In London 08 and the theme is ‘The Power of Women.’ There will be talks, workshops and networking for women and pro-feminist men. What are the key issues for feminists today? Are they pornography, rape, sexual objectification of women, war? These are some of the issues which will be discussed at this event. The day will also feature some of many feminist activist groups who are campaigning in and around London.

Speakers include Cynthia Cockburn: author of From Where We Stand: War, Women’s Activism and Feminist Analysis

Aw et Yohans from Forward UK

Helen Atkins from The Poppy Project

Commedienne Kate Smirthwaite will oversee the day’s activities.
