Feministing’s Friday Fuck Yeah - feminist bloggers edition
By Jess McCabe | 6 December 2008, 17:46
Feminist bloggers, this one’s for you. Samhita suggests calling out to your favourite feminist bloggers in comments on her thread.
I realise there’s a lot of stuff to be said said about whether feminist blogging is ultimately worth it, whether it’s a legitimate form of activism, how effective it is, who it reaches, and so on.
But why don’t we just take a moment to recognise the hours and hours of effort and work and love that feminist bloggers put into our blogs, and our online communities.
So thank you for doing your thing, feminist bloggers one and all.
Have your say
In order to keep this blog as a feminist and friendly space, comments will be subject to some rules. We do not seek to censor debate: the beauty of the internet is that anyone can set up their own blog or website to express their views.
- This blog is a safe and friendly space for feminists and feminist allies. Debate and critique are welcome where it is constructive and deepens analysis or understanding. Anti-feminist comments will not be approved. We get to decide what's anti-feminist.
- All comments must be approved by one of the bloggers. For this reason, there may be a delay before your comment appears.
- No sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, classist, ablist comments, comments which make personal attacks on any blogger or commenter, or comments that are otherwise deemed offensive by us will be posted.
- Trolls will be banned from commenting. We get to decide who is a troll.
- No anonymous comments - please feel free to use your real name or make one up, though.
- Be nice.

It was through feminist blogs that I first started to get into feminism. Well feminist blogs and Ani Difranco's music. They offer accessible, current, bite size feminist chunks and they inspired me. It was great to find that other people felt the same way I do. Current feminists who said feminism isn’t dead, we’ve got a way to go. I would not have read feminist literature or got involved with feminist activism if it wasn't for the blogs. Thank you for inspiring me and continuing to do the work you do.
