Joan Jett

Kristen Stewart has been cast to play Joan Jett in a film about the Runaways. AfterEllen has posted an analysis of the casting decision, and Kelsey at Bitch Magazine is less than impressed.
It’s a good excuse to post these though!

Honestly, is this what passes for feminism these days? (I'm talking about Bitch's, well, bitchiness). Since when does an actor have to be "cool" to play a particular role? Surely the point is that they're acting, whatever they're own personality. Maybe this woman can't act, I wouldn't have a clue, but shouldn't we wait until the film comes out before passing judgement?
Can't wait to get home to watch those vids though..
