Object Leeds

There's a new(ish!) branch of anti-objectification activist group Object in Leeds and they're looking for new members to help out with the following local and national campaigns:
Planning protests with FemSoc against Miss Leeds (regional heat of Miss England)Involvement with the Campaign for a Rape Crisis Centre in Leeds
Planning a sister Reclaim the Night March in Leeds
Setting up of a regular feminist stall in Leeds City Centre
Challenging sale and display policies of shops selling lads mags
Challenging the 9 lap dancing clubs in Leeds and national Lap Dancing Licensing
Challenging the 6 sex shops in Leeds
Contributing to the Leeds University Union Body Beautiful campaign
The group hold regular meetings; the next will take place on Sunday 1 March. If you'd like to get involved in any of the above campaigns, or would like more details, contact leeds[at]object.org.uk.

Well done to all those protesting against the distasteful Miss Leeds competition. My grand-mother was involved in the women's sufferage movement and so even as a bloke I feel some connection to your cause. I know if she was still with us she would be supporting your group in every way possible.
It is disgraceful how much damage is being done to women's equality in recent years with the ever encroaching reach of objectification. My heart goes out to all the brave people willing to take a stand against these awful spectacles.
