Forced marriage and ‘honour’ based abuse helpline faces closure.

The Karma Nirvana Honour Network Helpline provides help and support to victims and survivors of forced marriage and ‘honour’ based violence and abuse. It has received over 6,700 calls since it was launched in April 2008, but despite being praised by the Home Affairs Select Committee’s 2008 report into Domestic Violence, Forced Marriage and Honour Based Violence, it has received no government funding and will be forced to close on December 9th.
The founders have created a petition requesting government funding as a matter of urgency, and would very much appreciate it if you could sign it.
The helpline number is 0800 5999 247.
