End violence against Indigenous women in Canada:
Indigenous women in Canada are five times more likely than other women to die as the result of violence. The Native Women’s Association of Canada has documented over 520 cases of Indigenous women and girls who have gone missing or been murdered, most since 2000. The Canadian Feminist Alliance for International Action (FAFIA) has called for a public inquiry into the failure of police forces to prevent and investigate the violence in a timely and thorough way, and into the root causes of the violence Indigenous women and girls…Please take action!
Stop murders against trans women in Guatemala:
Join the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) and OTRANS Reinas de la Noche in calling on Guatemalan President, Mr. Alvaro Colom, and other authorities to condemn and seek justice in the murders of Kenia Mayli, Jessica Andreina and Sabrian Garcia Cajas, as well as to take measures to prevent the murders of trans people in Guatemala in the future.
Take action to defend women human rights defenders in Yemen:
The Observatory has been informed by reliable sources of numerous acts of harassment against the Sister’s Arab Forum for Human Rights (SAF) and its Chairperson, Ms. Amal Basha. According to the information received, in the evening of November 22, 2009, the SAF offices in Sana’a were broken in and entered into…The Observatory requests your urgent action.
