Women Speak Out

Two feminists are travelling up and down England, to meet women and discuss what issues affect them.
Michelle (an F-Word contributor) and Jessica are inspired by the Girldrive project, which saw Nona Willis Aronowitz and Emma Bee Bernstein roadtrip across the US interviewing young women about feminism.
Michelle says:
We'll blog a report of each discussion, with comments and photos, to eventually create a blog mapping women's voices and views from across the country.
The first meeting is in London on 29 May at the Royal Festival Hall, then there will be meetings in Birmingham and Leeds. Jessica and Michelle hope to travel to more cities over the summer.

"Reading it prompted the question, ‘What would a UK Girldrive look like?’ " - from the link, first entry I think?
English, it seems :/ Is there a reason why it's only English cities being visited (like travel constraints/time etc.)? It's a cool idea otherwise :)

@Kit I don't want to speak for Michelle and Jessica, but I'd suspect it's because of the costs and time associated that they're just visiting cities in England so far...

Hi Kit
Thanks for your comment! So far we only have plans to visit London, Birmingham and Leeds, but that's because we've doing it out of our own pockets. I think the next lot of cities may well include Edinburgh, Cardiff, Brighton, Manchester, Bristol and Newcastle, but we're waiting to see what the response is to London before committing ourselves...
It's also possible that we suggest that others take this on in their areas. I'm London-based and Michelle's in Leicester, so we could always do with help in other parts of the country!
