I think it is great to hear about feminist art, but the pervasive incapacity to bring about the reality that women face in todayś art world, overtakes the thinking about feminism as women experience it. I have had a terrible time with getting a show together and finding acceptance in the art world. Very often they are not interested in my work. And I am beginning to feel that I need to make a sweeping statement against this kind of thing in order to be true to myself. And I hate the way people very often try to belittle a woman artist of color. There is so much racism involved, and people are not even aware that they practice it.
