Calling all feminists in Edinburgh!
by Catherine Redfern // 10 September 2010, 18:25
On Saturday the 11th of September the Anarcha Feminist Kollectiv and Ladyfest Edinburgh have teamed up to bring you a pub quiz with a difference! The theme is 'radical women from herstory' and will feature a variety of different topics including history, music, art, science. There will be cake, a raffle, music, fantabulous prizes and guest compere feminist comedian Liz Ely!
There will also be a prize for the best costume, and discounted entry for anyone who dresses as their favourite radical woman from herstory.
It's Saturday night (11th September), at The Cannon's Gait Basement (4 pounds full price, 3 pounds concessions) at 7.30pm. Come in teams of 4/5 or join one when you get here!
The event is a fundraiser for the Soapbox event on the 25th/26th of September at The Forest Cafe - a free weekend of workshops and entertainment which promises to be a pile of educational awesome. Workshops include gender and feminism, gender and geek culture, abortion in Ireland, feminism and sport and feminism and the sex industry.

In other Edinburgh news, Edinburgh has a new group blog The Effie ! A space for a variety of feminist voices, kinda like The Fword but with a more local focus - anyone wanting to get involved in the website, promote an event, or just keep updated on what's going on in Scotland's capital should give it a look.
