I know you are awaiting a redesign, but it's really easy and way more effective to have your social buttons in your sidebar of every page. There's even some non-standard ones, all freely available with their html so you can embed them in your page styles.
It took me ages to find them earlier and that's not what you want!

It will be happening with the redesign, I agree they can be hard to find on here at the moment, which is why I added this post. I haven't read that piece yet, will go there now. Happy International Women's Day to you too!
