Back in October, The F-Word ran a feature about the women of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. Since then, an event has been announced to honour the most well known woman to work at the Workshop, Delia Derbyshire.

Delia Derbyshire Day 2013 will take place on 12 January 2013 at Manchester's Band On The Wall. You can purchase tickets for the event here. The organisers are also planning a short tour to accompany the days events.

Here is what the event's organisers have to say:

"Delia Derbyshire Day 2013 is a special day and evening event of performances, screenings and talks celebrating the work of the fascinating electronic pioneer Delia Derbyshire, who is best known for creating the original BBC Doctor Who theme tune in 1963 using no 'musical' instruments."

The day event (3pm-6pm)will include a screening of award-winning documentary "The Delian Mode", Q&A with The Delian Mode director Kara Blake and exciting panel of 'Delian' experts from around the UK,Deep listening session and sharing of some of Delia Derbyshire archive material

The evening event (8pm-10.30pm) will include

"Premiere performances of new commissions by:
Ailís Ní Ríain (contemporary classical)
caro c (was caro snatch - experimental electronic)
Naomi Kashiwagi (gramophonica)

With live visual accompaniment by Kara Blake
Plus DJ Tukatz playing Delia inspired experimental music"
