A sepia close-up image of the keys of an old-fashioned typewriterRegular readers may remember our call for applicants earlier this year to take on the role of Non-fiction Editor. We received a wealth of replies; so many, and of a uniformly high standard, that it's taken us until now to process them all - but I'm delighted to share the news that we've now appointed Lizzie Atkinson as our new Non-fiction Editor here at The F-Word and I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing her a happy stay with us!

Here's a little bit about her from her bio:

LizzieLizzie is a feminist and a facilitator who enjoys bringing together a range of voices on any issue, even eighteenth-century ones. She believes The F-Word is an important platform for women, and that a great non-fiction review is as much about the unique perspective of the reviewer as it is about the book.

She's a Marketing Officer based in Reading, though cut her and she bleeds the muddy waters of the Humber estuary. She started volunteering with Samaritans a year ago, and is casually employed by BBC World Service as a Researcher for The Forum. Once she even had the honour of starring in The Guardian's corrections and clarifications column.

Welcome, Lizzie!
