A Feminist Art Project

// 13 September 2008

wallspace.jpgAn artist-run exhibiting group called wall/space has launched Feminist Art Project – an initiative which will involve putting on an art show next year.

FAP also involves a series of discussions about feminist art – the next one is set for 4 October. I’ve added a brief note to our events page, but Women’s Grid has the full details:

It is on Saturday 4 October. You can start arriving from 1.30 and the discussion will start prompt at 2pm and will run till 5pm.

The venue is:

The Resource Centre, 356 Holloway Road, London N7 6PA

http://www.theresourcecentre.org.uk See link for more details of access, transport etc.

It has been very difficult to find a suitable venue, so we hope you like it here. We have to pay a fee and are asking you for a donation of £4.00 to cover the costs. We can order refreshments at an extra £1.26 per person – please let us know whether you want them.

We have divided the time of the meeting into the following sessions:

2 – 3pm. update about FAP – funding applications, the conference, the exhibition, a blog? We’d like your comments, ideas and input…

3 – 3.30 break, informal discussions

3.30 to 5 – discussion about feminist art. Please bring with you an image either of your own work or someone else’s work so we can discuss it in the context of ‘what is feminist art’.

The meeting is open to all women, whether you are an artist or not. We are very interested in involving women from different backgrounds, and from overseas, so please spread the word as far and wide as you can.
