Feministing’s Friday Fuck Yeah – feminist bloggers edition

// 6 December 2008

Feminist bloggers, this one’s for you. Samhita suggests calling out to your favourite feminist bloggers in comments on her thread.

I realise there’s a lot of stuff to be said said about whether feminist blogging is ultimately worth it, whether it’s a legitimate form of activism, how effective it is, who it reaches, and so on.

But why don’t we just take a moment to recognise the hours and hours of effort and work and love that feminist bloggers put into our blogs, and our online communities.

So thank you for doing your thing, feminist bloggers one and all.

Comments From You

It was through feminist blogs that I first started to get into feminism. Well feminist blogs and Ani Difranco’s music. They offer accessible, current, bite size feminist chunks and they inspired me. It was great to find that other people felt the same way I do. Current feminists who said feminism isn’t dead, we’ve got a way to go. I would not have read feminist literature or got involved with feminist activism if it wasn’t for the blogs. Thank you for inspiring me and continuing to do the work you do.
