‘Mapping the feminist web’

// 3 February 2009

During the Fem2.0 conference going on state-side this week, a firm called Linkfluence produced a lovely map of the feminist blogosphere:

You can see the full, interactive map here, logging on with the username/password fem2pt0/linkfluence.

(They also listed the 30 top feminist sites and blogs here, and as far as I can tell, The F-Word is one of the only non-US blogs on the list, alongside Womanist Musings – in Canada – and Hoyden About Town – in Australia.)

It’s awe-inspiring and very beautiful; sort of like a cosmos full of stars.

The method used to determine the ‘top 30’ blogs as far as I can see is the number of incoming links they have. A bit strange? I’ve moved sites more than once to get rid of incoming links I didn’t want.

A lot of feminist blogs I visit are not there – or at least the search facility doesn’t come up with them. It looks amazing though!
