Katie Sutton was called sexist names at Reclaim the Night, amid continued disagreements between feminists over the issue of prostitution/sex work. Where now for sisterhood at these public events? Includes a response by Finn Mackay
Katie Sutton:
I’m writing this sitting on a bed in a hotel room in north London following Reclaim the Night London 2009. I spent the day with my sisters from NUS Women’s Committee, making placards and gathering support from the general public, before joining a group of around 2,000 women to walk the streets of London for what I believe was the longest march route yet. Despite the long day and my aching feet, I’m buzzing. But I’m also feeling shocked, hurt and angry.
