Further to Jess’ post last month about the launch of Storm in a Teacup, the London-based collective set up with the aim of promoting women in the arts, we’ve received this update via their Facebook group page:
Following the huge success of our launch party at the end of Feb, the girls at Storm in a Teacup have been busy working away behind the scenes to organise more fabulous female-friendly events for the coming year.
We are working with Ladyfest TEN to help celebrate the tenth anniversary of Ladyfest with the main event in November, as well as a number of events, including:
April-June – Ladyfest Ten & Storm in a Teacup Fundraisers
- Swallows and Amazons Life Drawing salon @ The Victoria, Mile End confirmed!! Celebrating real women in all their naked and knickerbockered glory, Swallows and Amazons is a series of fun fundraising events featuring lively life models and drawing challenges to help unleash the creative beast within you…
- Launch night – 27th April, with at least 3 more to follow in the weeks to follow…£8 on door, 8-10pm…limited availability…sign up here:

August – Storm in a Teacup > ART PARTY (Exhibition & Music event. Venue TBC). A combined Art and Music event showcasing the work of artists from the extremely talented Storm in a Tea Cup and (potentially) DIY Womp collectives. Keep your eyes peeled, call for submissions and more details coming soon!

As well as our work with Ladyfest, we are also making preparations for the second edition of the Storm in a Teacup Zine, which will be out in June. There will be a callout for contributions soon, so watch this space!
