Yet more global victim blaming news

In which a woman not wearing a headscarf becomes an unwrapped lollipop attracting flies.

I won’t repost the image here because the crowning of Prime Minister Cameron has turned my stomach enough for one day.

Being compared to a disease ridden parasite is not exactly flattering either.

As coldharbour pointed out, this ad does women and men no favours. And what about women (Muslim or otherwise) who don’t wear headscarfs?

I just heard about Cameron and had my own ‘NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!’ moment.

I did too. It seems Satan has taken up residence at number 10.

So what’s new with men blaming women for supposedly causing males to commit sexual violence against them. What is new is the resurgence of these old, old misogynistic views and we need to ask why globally men who commit violence against women are consistently excused/justified for their crimes against women.

Is it because male dominant societies live in a state of constant fear women are not men’s adjuncts but are in fact human. Hence the need for this endless misogynistic propaganda against women. Or perhaps the real reason is by constantly focusing on women and blaming them, this in itself serves to reinforce male domination and male control over women.

After all, male supremacist societies have to consistently work 24/7 to keep women down and any hint of female rebellion must be swiftly dealt with.

Ah I like the idea men are flies because flies are parasites are they not? So what does this message tell men then? That they are parasites? Surely not that would be man-hating would be it not?

Although I think it’s a pretty accurate description of both Clegg and Cameron.
