Prize draw!

We want to say thank you to all the FANTASTIC supporters of The F-Word, who contribute to our fundraising drive. Our £3,000 goal is just in sight but we cannot do it without you.

If everyone contributes just a little bit, closing the gap will be plain sailing!

As mentioned, everyone who donates* will be entered into a prize draw to win some brilliant feminist goodies.

Here are some of the brilliant stuff you could win!

A fabulous Glasgow Women’s Library goody bag, containing badges, a women at work t-shirt, a copy of the F-word DVD that a group of young women from Edinburgh produced after using GWL resources (that’s where the screenshot is from).

PLUS: A pair of tickets to the launch of the Women of the Necropolis walk on Sunday 19 September.

One year’s subscription to HerStoria magazine – plus copies of all the back issues so far!

HerStoria is a history magazine that shifts the typical historian’s gaze away from the exploits of men, to look at neglected narratives of women in history.

Three books of the winner’s choice, from Persephone Books. Underneth the distinctive grey jackets, Persephone publishes neglected and forgotten 20th century classics by, for and about women.

A pair of tickets to a seminar at the Women’s Library, about its Out of the Archives exhibition of new art inspired by digging into some of the amazing stuff in the Library’s collection.

The seminar on 11 September “brings together the artists commissioned for the Out of the Archives project alongside with guest speakers to present and discuss visual responses to the gendered archive.”

*Now if we’re not careful we slide into the legal quagmire of lotteries, licenses and regulations, so to avoid all that we’d like to make it clear that this is a ‘no purchase necessary’ prize draw that anyone can enter. Obviously, though, we hope readers take it in the spirit in which it is intended, which is as a genuine thank-you to those who are helping us with the redesign. If you want to be entered into the prize draw there are three ways to play:

  • if you’ve donated already – you’re in, no further action necessary
  • if you’d like to donate – please click here to donate via PayPal or email [email protected] for other ways to donate
  • if you’d like us to enter you without making a donation, please leave your name and the comments box below along with the phrase “I haven’t made a donation but I’d like to be entered into the draw anyway”. (Please use a valid email address.)

We’ll do the draw as soon as we get the donation that tips us over the £3,000 mark, and we’ll contact the winners using the email address with which you made the donation (or left the comment)
