The Earth seen from Apollo 17 (public domain image via Wikipedia)Here’s this week’s open thread for discussion and our regular round-up of some of the articles and blogs we’ve noticed over the last week or so, but not had time to post about.

If you have a link or comment that doesn’t fit anywhere else and would like to share it, feel free to drop it in the comments here.

This week’s closing music vid is an old school Balearic classic and one of my all-time favourite songs: Barefoot in the head by A Man Called Adam.

Thank you for the inclusion of Stories of Conflict and Love – and thank you for such an interesting list!

First we had Ken, then Tory MEP Roger Helmer going further by suggesting victims ‘share a part of the responsibility’

and now crossbench Peer Baroness Murphy also agrees that women should, in some cases, share responsibility

I despair for the state of British legislators. Even for those who accept that Ken ‘misspoke’ it is these entrenched attitudes awhich make Ken’s initial ‘lack of clairty’ so damaging.
