After my blog yesterday, SurreyCricBlog’s take on the matter, and the Guardian following up the story this morning, Surrey CCC have now decided not to have walk-on girls for Monday night’s game against Essex. All mention of the previous plan has been erased from the website.

Mysterious, no?

Meanwhile, here’s a brilliant piece of work from @AlternateRowan, commenting on the entire saga –

Howzat! Fab work on knocking the walk-on girls nonsense for six

It’d be great if we could have some fun with the ridiculous tradition of having ‘podium girls’ at cycling events. If you’re not familiar with this particular anachronism….ask anyone who is into cycling……….
