Don’t know if this has been covered elsewhere but today (23/2) there has been a lot of coverage of the supposed undercover investigation into private clinics carrying out sex-selective abortions: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/9100252/Abortion-investigation-Health-Secretary-Andrew-Lansley-to-report-clinics-and-doctors-to-police.html

If these claims are true, that’s obviously not good, but this possible evidence for a very small amount of (?) malpractice is of course becoming the excuse for attacks on abortion itself (‘The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (Spuc) said sex-selective abortion was an “inevitable consequence” of easy access to abortion.’). Also, look at the picture (a clearly distressed woman) on the BBC website. Needlessly emotive and potentially judgemental, surely?
