Features editor wanted for feminist music site

The is the logo for The Girls AreMusic website thegirlsare is an excellent resource for news and reviews of women musicians, producers and acts. Their regulars have included a Read All About It feature, gig guide and Song of the Week and they’ve also run several competitions over the years (including the Just a Girl: The Long list competition Gaptooth recently mentioned in The F-Word’s two-part blog piece about ‘Ladykillers’).

Editor-in-Chief Annette Barlow has let us know that thegirlsare is currently looking for a Features Editor, who will be responsible for overseeing and developing all features for the website, in addition to being directly involved in its evolution:

Responsibilities:

– Develop and implement ideas for new features for the website

– Write a monthly column for the website

– Respond to articles, statements, and developments in the industry with articles

– Edit, format, upload & schedule features articles

– Liaise with Editor regarding the scheduling of articles

– Source pictures to accompany features

– Use existing connections to source opportunities for the website

– Respond to enquiries/concerns/issues promptly
